On the occasion of World Animal Day 2025, IIIT Hyderabad organized an Animal Welfare Awareness and Interactive Session on 8 October. The  theme this year was  Save Animals, Save the Planet,  aimed to promote compassion and responsibility towards animals and the environment.

Founders and activists working in the field of animal rescue and rehabilitation – Mr. Pradeep Nair, founder of Animal Warriors Conservation Society (AWCS) and Ms. Anushka Potay, founder, Adoptions For Hyderabad (AFH) shared their inspiring experiences of caring for community animals, birds, and wildlife. The interactive session gave the participants an  opportunity to gain insights, network with changemakers, and explore how compassion and action come together. Hearing these talks, the participant got to know how animal welfare connects with our environment and community.
