The 5th consecutive victory for Smart City Living Lab

Team Nexus from IIIT Hyderabad has secured the ‘Best Promotion of oneM2M’ award (3rd Prize – 500,000 KRW) at the 2025 International oneM2M Hackathon – 8th Mobius Developer Challenge, for their project – oneM2M-Enabled AI for Resilient Building Systems.

The winning team  Mr. Likhith Kanigolla, Mr. Kartik Gharade, Mr. Peri Reddy Vaka, and Ms. Nishitha Varma, under the guidance of Ms. Anuradha Vattem and Dr. Karthik Vaidhyanathan from the Smart City Living Lab,  presented an innovative approach blended with  standards-based IoT interoperability along with AI-driven and LLM-assisted decision-making for smart buildings. 

Their solution demonstrated how global IoT standards like oneM2M can serve as a scalable backbone for intelligent, autonomous, and resilient built environments.

Notably, this recognition marks a remarkable milestone — The 5th consecutive victory for teams from Smart city living lab, IIIT Hyderabad, at this global event.

Anuradha Vattem exclaimed with happiness, “This continued success highlights IIITH’s position as a leading contributor to the global oneM2M ecosystem and its role in shaping the future of interoperable IoT systems.”
