As part of the UG1 Induction Program, first-year students came together to create a vibrant and meaningful art installation titled Rise Together. The installation was created under the guidance of Mr. Shajil, an art faculty at  IIITH.

The idea behind this creative activity was to offer a warm welcome to the newest members to the institute by inviting them to engage, express, and connect through the language of art. 

Each student crafted a colourful paper air-plane — folded, shaped, and ready to soar. On every plane, they inscribed personal affirmations, hopes, and dreams — thoughts they carry as they begin this new chapter of life on campus. These planes represent not just creativity in motion, but also the inner journeys of everyone — taking flight with courage and intention. 

The students are the sun in this installation — rising together, fueled by their unique dreams and shared aspirations. The use of different colours reflects their individuality — their backgrounds, personalities, and perspectives. Meanwhile, the sea of blue and white symbolises IIIT Hyderabad, the foundation from which these students rise, and the space that nurtures their growth. 

Rise Together was more than an artwork — it was a celebration of new beginnings, of unity in diversity, and the boundless potential that unfolds when we lift each other up.
