Students triumph in sports at GITAM

The IIITH men’s football team, led by Captain Abraham Paul, secured a remarkable first-place victory at the GITAM University Inter-Collegiate Football Tournament, held on 31 October and 1 November at the GITAM campus in Hyderabad. Eighteen teams from universities across the region participated, making the competition both spirited and intense.

Demonstrating exceptional teamwork and resilience throughout the tournament, the IIITH team advanced confidently to the finals. In the championship match against ICFAI University, they delivered a stellar performance, clinching a thrilling 2–1 victory. Every player made meaningful contributions on the field, showcasing both technical skill and competitive spirit.

The team’s success was shaped significantly by the guidance of Coach Mr. Revanth Netala, whose strategic direction and disciplined training schedule—four days a week without fail—played a crucial role in the team’s championship run.

In addition to the football team’s victory, IIITH’s table tennis doubles team secured the runner-up position, while the volleyball and basketball teams delivered commendable performances marked by sportsmanship and consistency.
