Dr. Nimmi Rangaswamy was the Paper Chair at the India HCI held in Mumbai from 7 to 9 November. Rahul Garg working with Dr. Nimmi Rangaswamy  presented a paper on Dichotomy of Game Design and Gaming Practice: Examining Gaming Toxicity and Online Gaming Communities in India in the conference proceedings.

The paper reframes global understandings of toxicity by focusing on the socio-economic and cultural diversity in Indian online gaming spaces, going beyond gender distinction. We also explored how game mechanics and design elements contribute to toxic behaviours, especially in competitive gaming environments.
