Dr. Veeraraghava Raju Hasti, University of Central Florida gave a talk on Scientific Machine Learning for AI-Driven Autonomous Systems 3 June. The talk was hosted by Prof. Krishna Reddy.
The next generation of autonomous systems must function effectively in uncertain, dynamic, and data-sparse environments, which demands more than purely data-driven learning. This talk presents recent advances in Scientific Machine Learning, a methodology that integrates physics-based modeling with data-driven approaches to develop intelligent, robust, and adaptive systems. Our research emphasizes the fusion of data-driven machine learning with physics-based domain knowledge to achieve autonomy in complex, high-impact applications such as sustainable energy, precision agriculture, intelligent transportation, Défense, and healthcare etc.,. We demonstrate how hybrid modelling techniques enable AI-driven digital twins, adaptive simulations, and informed decision-making under uncertainty, all of which are critical for deploying reliable autonomous systems in real-world settings.
