Cultural Wing of Student Life Committee (SLC) in collaboration with the Society for the Promotion of Indian Classical Music and Culture Amongst Youth (SPIC MACAY) – Hyderabad Chapter hosted Yakshagana, a vibrant and traditional dance-drama form from Karnataka under the ageis of SPIC MACAY- Hyderabad Chapter on 6 August in H-105.

The event brought to life the rich heritage of Yakshagana, blending rhythmic dance, expressive drama, and elaborate costumes. The performers enthralled the audience with their dynamic storytelling, vibrant facial expressions, and powerful vocal delivery, transporting everyone into the mythological world of Indian epics.

Students, faculty, and staff gathered in large numbers to witness this unique art form, many experiencing it for the first time. The performance not only entertained but also educated the audience about the cultural depth and historical significance of Yakshagana.

This collaboration with SPIC MACAY reaffirmed IIIT Hyderabad’s commitment to promoting Indian classical arts and providing students with enriching cultural experiences.
