As part of the Engineers’ Day observance at IIIT Hyderabad, an amla (Indian gooseberry) tree was planted on 15 September 2026 by Prof. Jofin George, EERC, IIIT Hyderabad. The initiative reflects the institute’s commitment to promoting a greener and more sustainable campus.

The tree plantation also adds to the campus’s green spaces, while symbolising the importance of nurturing the environment alongside engineering and technological progress.
