As part of IIIT Hyderabad’s continuing commitment to sustainability and maintaining a green campus, two tree plantation initiatives were held near the entrance of the Nilgiris Block on 18 July 2026.

As part of  visit to IIIT Hyderabad, V.L.V.S.S. Subba Rao, vice chancellor of Young India Skills University, Telangana, planted a jackfruit tree near the entrance of the Nilgiris block., a few B.Tech students from the 2026 batch, along with Radhika Mamidi, Associate Professor and Dean of Students Affairs (DOSA), planted a neem tree near the same block. It is hoped that these trees will thrive and stand tall,  leave a lasting legacy, and inspiring future students to care for the environmnent too.
