Things Conference India 2019

IIITH was part of the Things Conference held from 18 – 19 October at Hyderabad International Convention Centre (HICC), Hyderabad. The main organizer of the event was a startup CyberEye headed by few IIITH alumni including Sesha Sai of 2012 batch. IIITH was the sole academic partner for this event. 

During the conference Cybereye announced that they will be deploying LoRaWAN network on campus to boost IIITH’s living lab implementation efforts. Dr. Sachin Chaudhari, Dr. Deepak Gangadharan, Prof. Ramesh Loganathan and research students from IIITH participated in the conference. During the conference Prof. Ramesh Loganathan gave a talk on the Smart City Living Lab@IIITH.

The Things Conference India 2019, Asia’s Largest LoRaWAN conference presented a plethora of exciting developments in the field of IoT and LoRaWAN. It included  700 participants, 50+ workshops and 60+ speakers from more than 10 countries.

Powered by iB Hubs and presented by CyberEye, the conference gave many opportunities for startups and businesses in IoT, bringing together all the key stakeholders, such as governments, business leaders, corporate professionals, startups and students with the objective to strengthen the technology community for a smart India.

World’s leading companies in the IoT & LoRaWAN industry like Microchip, MultiTech, The Things Industries, RAK Wireless and many participated in the conference. Notable speakers include Dr. Seshagiri Rao, Former Associate Director & Distinguished Scientist, ISRO SDSC; Mr. Jayesh Ranjan, Principal Secretary of I&C – Govt. of Telangana; Mr. Johan Stokking, CTO & Co-founder – The Things Industries; Rob Spurret, CEO – Lacuna space; Jan Jongboom, Co-founder and CTO, Edge Impulse. All in all, this year’s conference was a perfect platform for tech enthusiasts and businesses working in the smart space to learn, explore and connect.
