Last year was a successful one for the Parliament, which worked despite unfavorable COVID conditions towards bettering the institute’s community. Last year, the Parliament was headed by Anumolu Venkata Sunil Kumar as the General Secretary, who has been awarded with the Highest Institute Honor “Banyan Award” for his selfless volunteering.

This year’s Parliament is spearheaded by Shivaan Seghal, who has been a member of the parliament since his first year at IIITH. He was hostel secretary in his second year, speaker in the third, and is now taking up the responsibility of General Secretary in his fourth year. Led by an extremely level-headed and proficient person who has displayed his leadership qualities many times in the past as the Art Society coordinator and then the Felicity coordinator, the parliament hopes to rise above everyone’s expectations to greater heights.

This time around, the girls’ representation in the parliament is at an all-time high, with six girl MPs which is more than 25% of the parliament. The parliament encourages all students to contribute towards raising the social and academic standards of the institute.
