Saurabh Agrawal supervised by Prof. Ashok Kumar Das received  his doctorate in  Computer Science and Engineering (CSE). Here’s a  summary of his research work on Design and Analysis of Big Data-Enabled Secure Authentication Schemes for Maritime Communications System:

This thesis addresses the growing need for secure maritime communication in the era of autonomous vessels, smart ports, and the Internet of Vessels (IoV). It proposes a series of lightweight authentication frameworks that enhance maritime cybersecurity by using dynamic, location-based keys instead of conventional static cryptographic approaches. The research integrates emerging technologies such as 5G communication, drones, blockchain, Big Data analytics, and machine learning to strengthen ship authentication and protect sensitive maritime data. Extensive security analysis, formal verification, and network simulations demonstrate the resilience of the proposed schemes against cyberattacks including spoofing, replay, impersonation, and Man-in-the-Middle attacks. The work offers a scalable, efficient, and secure framework for safeguarding modern maritime communication networks and supporting the future of intelligent maritime transportation.
