The 25th edition of IIIT Hyderabad’s annual R&D Showcase, held on campus on 14 and 15 March, brought together researchers, industry leaders and students to explore advances in areas such as artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, algorithms, robotics and digital public infrastructure.

Themed “Trust in Technology – Security, Privacy and Transparency,” the two-day event featured over 400 research posters, demos and prototypes from 29 research centres, giving visitors the opportunity to interact directly with faculty and students and see how fundamental research is being translated into real-world applications.

The inaugural session on 14th included spotlight sessions by Center for Security, Theory and Algorithmic Research (CSTAR) and Cyber Manthan Centre (CMC), an inaugural address by Dr. Shivkumar Kalyanaraman, CEO, ANRF, and a keynote panel discussion on “Building Trust in the Indian Cyber Space: Privacy, Security and Transparency in the Era of Emerging Technologies.”

Alongside research exhibits across AI, robotics, data science and cybersecurity, the Showcase hosted industry–research confluence sessions on themes such as Cyber Security and Privacy in the AI Era and AI for Theory and Theory for AI, as well as a startup showcase and an industry roundtable on Agentic AI.

The second day featured Excitement of Research (ExOR), introducing visiting undergraduate students to research pathways, and a Faculty Futures Roundtable on research funding. The event concluded with a patent felicitation ceremony at Research Street, recognising IIIT-H researchers for their innovation and intellectual property contributions.

Now in its 25th year, the R&D Showcase has evolved into one of the institute’s flagship platforms for presenting research and fostering collaboration between academia, industry and government.
