Prof. Shmuel Peleg, School of Computer Science and Engineering, The Hebrew University of Jerusalem, and Co-founder Humaneyes and BriefCam gave a talk on Audio Visual Speech Enhancement on 7 September.
He spoke about computer vision research at Hebrew University, recent research on Audio-Visual speech enhancement, which is achieved using a neural network that accepts as input both the spectrogram of the original sound and the video showing the speaker.
Prof. Peleg has published over 150 technical papers in computer vision and image processing, and holds 22 US patents. His technologies provided the technical foundations to several startup companies; two companies are located in Israel: (i) HumanEyes Technologies Ltd. creates and prints stereoscopic 3D images. (ii) BriefCam Ltd. creates short summaries of long surveillance video, able to summarize hours of surveillance video in minutes. Prof. Peleg is a two-time recipient of the Kaye Innovation Award for his work on panoramic stereo technology behind HumanEyes, and video synopsis of BriefCam.
