Prof. Seshadri Mohan, University of Arkansas at Little Rock gave a talk on AI/ML-Assisted Connected and Autonomous Vehicles For 6G And Beyond on 21 February.
In his talk, he explained how the field of connected vehicles stands at the confluence of AI-ML, IoT, Edge Intelligence, 6G and beyond wireless networking, novel GPUs, and evolving standards for V2X. He provided an overview of 3GPP standardization to ensure vehicle-to-everything connectivity, particularly LTE C-V2X, and 5G-V2X, and discussed the applicability of AI/ML to several use cases. He also visited the Robotics Research Center (RRC) lab and interacted with students and a few faculty in the 5G and wireless areas.
Dr. Seshadri Mohan is a Professor Emeritus in Systems Engineering Department at University of Arkansas at Little Rock. From August 2004 to June 2013, he served as the Chair of the Department of Systems Engineering and continued as a Professor until August 2024. Before his tenure at UA Little Rock, he was the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and Acting CEO of IP SerVoniX, where he consulted for several telecommunication and venture firms and served as the CTO of Telsima (formerly known as Kinera). Dr. Mohan has authored/co-authored over 100 publications in the form of books, patents, and papers in refereed journals and conference proceedings with citations to his publications in excess of 5900.
