Martin Edward Hellman, Professor Emeritus – Electrical Engineering, Stanford University gave a talk on The Evolution of Public Key Cryptology. Prof. Hellman is best known for his invention of public key cryptography in co-operation with Whitfield Diffie and Ralph Merkle. Prof. Hellman and Diffie were awarded the Marconi prize (2000) and the Turing Award (2015) for their work on public-key cryptography and for helping make cryptography a legitimate area of academic research.
