Linux Installation Fest

Dates: 29th July, 30th July & 4th August 2025 

The Linux Installation Fest introduced freshers to open-source software through a series of hands on sessions. The first two sessions guided participants in installing Linux via dual-boot, with live demos and troubleshooting support. Attendees also explored advanced features like package management, terminal commands, and desktop customization, linking Linux skills to real-world applications in programming and cybersecurity. A follow-up Debug Session (4th August, H203) addressed post-installation issues such as boot errors and connectivity problems through one-on-one troubleshooting and shared tips on best practices. This not only equipped students with practical technical skills but also sparked enthusiasm for open-source development, reinforcing OSDG’s role in building a collaborative tech community at IIITH.
