The organisers created “Systematic Literature Review and Systematic Mapping Studies”, a public group for students to join and ask queries/seek assistance on their SLR/SMS work.
An important aspect of research is to understand the current state of the art and to be able to identify the gaps in a systematic manner. Systematic Mapping Study (SMS) and Systematic Literature Review (SLR) brings a rigor in conducting a literature survey. It helps individuals to understand the landscape, draw insights on the research problems and trends. A well-done SMS/SLR can qualify for high-quality journal/conference publications. To a great extent, this is an essential part of your thesis.
Ph.D students Sai Anirudh and Lalit Mohan conducted a 1.5-hour online session on preparing SMS and SLR on 30 April. The workshop used some of the prior publications from SERC as basis/examples. However, the overall process/approach is applicable in most of the areas that depend on “evidence” for analysis.
