The previous term had been one of the toughest terms the student’s parliament has seen in recent years. Having made changes internally and coming out with a new structure for the first time, the amount of work the students had done was substantially high. The student’s parliament had given their 100% to make sure that all of the concerns raised were represented at the right level even though the outcomes were sometimes not what they had tried to achieve.

COVID-19 was a new phenomenon to deal with for everyone and as students and students’ representatives, it was a challenge for them. Along with carrying out their responsibilities as parliament members, they actively participated in campus’s covid situation management. They were not only involved in managing the ground reality and quickly escalating key issues to concerned authorities, but were also involved in the decision-making body during those times. This required increased participation from all the MPs and everyone came forward to do their part. Many non-MP volunteers also stood up to the situation and helped the student parliament.

The current parliament aims to not only continue just resolving issues but also take up initiatives for the welfare of the students and overseeing the developments of the various student bodies.
