MS by Research ECE student Upender Keesara presents paper at International conference on Communication Systems and Networks (COMSNETS)

Upender Keesara, an MS by Research student in Electronics and Communication Engineering(ECE), presented a paper on Autocorrelation-Based Spectrum Sensing of FBMC Signal at the 10th International conference on Communication Systems and Networks (COMSNETS) in Bangalore last month.

The paper proposed an autocorrelation feature detector to detect Filter Bank Multi-Carrier (FBMC) signals in presence of noise. FBMC waveform is considered to be one of the contenders for fifth generation (5G) cellular systems. The proposed detector in the paper is the first feature-based detector for FBMC signal. Upender’s research was supervised by Dr. Sachin Chaudhari from Signal Processing and Communication Research Center (SPCRC).

COMSNETS is an international conference organized by a committee formed by professors from Indian Institute of Science (IISc); Indian Institute of Technologies (IITs); Singapore Management University (SMU); Singapore, National University of Singapore (NUS),Singapore; University of Southern California (USC), USA and industry experts from reputed R&D organizations such as Cisco, Google, Microsoft Research, TCS innovation labs and Qualcomm.

COMSNETS 2018 had poster presentations, workshops, demo exhibits by many industries and several invited talks by academicians from various parts of the globe. The conference gave Upender an opportunity to interact and discuss his work with both academicians and industry experts.

His work was supported by grants from Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB), Department of Science and Technology (DST).
