IIIT Hyderabad and National Remote Sensing Centre (NRSC), ISRO, Department of Space, Govt. of India, Hyderabad have signed an Memorandum of Understanding (MoU)  for a joint collaboration for Advanced Research and Development Project: Generation of climate Database and Assessment of Climate Change Impacts on Water Resources.

Roles and Responsibilities of IIIT Hyderabad and NRSC:

• Generation of Downscaled climate dataset for Hydrological Applications
• Studying Impact of Climate Change on Irrigation Water Demands
• Assessment of Climate Change Impacts on Water Resources Availability
• Climate Change Impacts on Hydrological Extreme Events
• Assessment of Reservoir Inflows, Reservoir Operation and Hydropower Generation under Climate Change Scenarios

The joint research collaboration between NRSC and IIITH will benefit the water resources managers and agricultural water managers for decision and policy making for the assessment of climate change impacts on agriculture, hydropower and water availability and demands.
