Sri Gunaranjan founder of United Care Development Services gave a talk on Joy of Giving Early on 13 February. He founded United Care Development Services, also known as UC – www.yousee.in, in June 2009 and is a full-time volunteer with it. UC as a philanthropy exchange mobilizes resources for social causes in the areas of education, health, and environment. Major part of UC’s current work is focused on improving access to free and quality healthcare services. It does this by facilitating volunteer resources, full-time technical manpower, equipment and project implementation support for institutions delivering primary care, tertiary care and palliative care services in multiple states. The work at UC is almost entirely led by dedicated volunteers and undertaken in a very collaborative model with other nonprofits and public health institutions.
One of the significant volunteer initiatives from UC have been the development and deployment of a free and open-source hospital information system called Health4All, across over 30 government hospitals in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh and also at all free health clinics supported by UC in Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Karnataka and Kerala.
Prior to UC, Gunaranjan worked for 7 years at BASIX NGO group, working across functions and places in India. He completed his schooling at the Sri Sathya Sai School at Puttaparthi. He went on to complete his M.Sc in Physics in 2000 and MBA in 2002 from Sri Sathya Sai University, Puttaparthi.
