International Women’s Day was celebrated on 10 March at Nilgiri Building and was attended by IIITH’s women staff and housekeeping staff. The event included various fun activities like songs, dance and games.
ASEC in collaboration with NSS also celebrated Women’s Day. The event was a vibrant reminder of the strength, creativity, and resilience of women. The day began with a cheerful welcome, setting the tone for what was to come. Despite looming deadlines and hectic schedules, students and faculty gathered to honor the women who inspire us every day. Ms. Anuradha Amudalapalli, Executive Partner & Hyderabad Location Leader at IBM gave a keynote talk. With decades of experience in the IT industry, she spoke passionately about the power of participation, confidence, and creativity. She reminded all that making time for oneself is just as important as achieving professional milestones. After her speech, students got the opportunity to engage in a thought-provoking Q&A session. The exchange of ideas and the curiosity in the room made it clear — conversations like these have a lasting impact. Next Ms. Vyshnavi Yarlagadda, an international grandmaster of memory and a true force to be reckoned with, spoke about her journey as a homeschooler and how her early experiences shaped her incredible career, which inspired all the listeners. She talked about the role parents play in nurturing a child’s potential — a message that resonated with many in the audience. Her story wasn’t just about accolades and achievements. It was a testament to how passion and perseverance can lead to extraordinary accomplishments. Naturally, the audience had many questions, and she answered each one with warmth and wisdom. The speakers were felicitated with heartfelt applause and tokens of appreciation.
Conversations flowed, laughter echoed, and connections were made. There’s something special about sharing stories over a cup of chai, and the chai break was a celebration in itself. This was followed by Relay Rumble, the races were a thrilling spectacle. With each lap, the excitement grew, and the energy was contagious. The close finishes and unpredictable victories kept all on the edge of their seats. Women’s Day isn’t just about acknowledging achievements; it’s about supporting each other, breaking barriers, and striving for equality every single day.
Until next year, let’s keep the spirit of Women’s Day alive in our actions and words!
