Dr. Nimmi Rangaswamy co-hosted a workshop at the 22nd International Annual Meeting of the Association of Internet Researchers (AoIR), Interfacing, Interacting, Internetting in Pandemic Times on 4 October. AoIR 2021 Satellite Event was hosted by the Department of Communication, University of Hyderabad and IIIT Hyderabad.
This workshop featured work from early career scholars, ECRs, with responses from senior researchers around 6 themes: interface design, platform work, teaching/learning, home/office, leisure practices and relational dynamics during the year of living on and in the screen, in India. The 3-hour event will feature 6 presentations from ECRs, followed by a round table of discussants (senior academics) and an open discussion. It is designed to bring perspectives from ECRs in India to the wider AoIR membership in a rapidly changing internet environment, given the new regulations and increasing awareness of such issues as data harms and pernicious content.
