The Cultural Wing of Student Life Committee in coordination with Human Sciences Research Group (HSRG) and Silver Jubilee organizing committee organized International Mother Language Day as part of the Silver Jubilee Celebrations on 21 February. The celebrations with the inauguration event was followed by research presentations in mother language by Dr. Vishnu Sreekumar and students from Cognitive Science (CogSci), and Dr. Samyadeb Bhattacharya and students from Centre for Quantum Science and Technology (CQST); talk by Ms. Rupam Mishra on The Mother Language Registers the Cultural Concerns; musical events by Dr. T K Saroja and students and College Art Presentation from Dr. Puja Chauhan and students. The event concluded with – The Mockingbirds Theatre Play Ek rumaal Ek anguthi Ek Chalni, presented by Amrita Pritam, Actor – Ms. Gunjan Jain and Directed by Sri. Shubham Tiwari.
About Rupam Mishra
Rupam Mishra has seen a meteoric rise in Hindi poetry. Writing since 2018, she is already an accomplished name with works published in leading journals of Hindi literature. She has written articles in several magazines including the web portals ‘Feminism in India’ and ‘Newsclick’ on realities of rural India and the struggles of rural women in contemporary political and cultural contexts. She has an anthology of poetry titled ‘Ek Jeevan Alag Se’ published by Rajkamal publications. She has received the Kalawati Young Writer award and the Anahad Kolkata award for poetry. She is particularly known for her mix of Awadhi diction in her Hindi writing.
About Sri. Shubham Tiwari
Shubham Tiwari was born and brought up in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. He has been doing theatre for the past ten years in Lucknow and he is a member of ‘The Mockingbirds’ theatre group. He worked with many renowned directors like Chaitanya Prakash (Anmol khazana play), Bhartendu Kashyap (Ek batta chabbis, sapanpriya,sohar ek avantar Katha, sheh aur maat,muslman, Waiting For Godot ), Surya Mohan Kulshreshtha (Muntazir, Bhagvadajjukyam , Bury The Dead ), Atamjeet singh ( baje dhidhora urf khoon ka rang, munshiganj goli kaand urf mook balidan), Ram Dayal Sharma, Rozi Dubey ( Bhagnansh), Raghavendra Pratap Singh ( Amarbeli), Vyomesh Shukla, Devendra Raj Ankur, Tuire Hindikka (Finland), P kurika (Finland), Felipe Pozo (Spain) and many more. Shubham has written and directed many street plays and he also conducts theatre workshops in schools and colleges. He is currently pursuing his Master in Performing Arts, Theatre Arts in Pondicherry University.
Shubham has received many awards like Best Music, Best Direction and Best Playwright at Azamgarh Mahotsav; Katha Rang Samman; Second Position for Ek Chalani, Ek Anguthi, Ek Rumaal at Big Shot Solo Theatre Festival; Changemaker Fellowship (Women Empowerment and social & Cultural harmony through Theatre) and Sajag Fellowship for Bharat Ek Samvidhan play.
