IIIT Hyderabad to Host local edition of Hult Prize

Aditya Kumar (2nd year BTech, CSE) has been selected as a Campus Director for the 2020 Hult Prize on Campus Program at IIIT Hyderabad. In partnership with the United Nations, the Hult Prize is hosting college and university events around the world in search of the next game-changing start-up. Aditya Kumar will be leading the Hult Prize at IIIT-H On Campus Program and is confident that his/her peers on campus have as good as chance as anyone to go all the way and with this year’s Hult Prize. The winner of the local On Campus Program will automatically advance to compete in one of Hult Prize Regional Summits happening around the world. One winning team from each host city will then move onto a summer accelerator, where participants will receive mentorship, advisory and strategic planning as they create prototypes and set-up to launch their new social business. A final round of competition will be hosted in September at the United Nations Headquarters, where the winning team will be awarded the $1,000,000 prize. Hult Prize at IIIT-H is now recruiting volunteers and teams who are interested in registering for the competition.

In 2009, Founder and CEO of the Hult Prize Foundation Ahmad Ashkar had a compelling idea—leverage the crowd to generate startup ideas from young people to sustainably solve the world’s most critical social challenges. Through the help of Hult, he acted on it. Today, the Hult Prize Foundation is the world’s biggest engine for the launch of for-good, for-profit startups emerging from university with over 2500 staff and volunteers around the world. Training over one million youth in impact entrepreneurship over the past decade, the movement has deployed more than $50M of capital into the sector and mobilized and empowered millions of young people to re-think the future of business as it continues to breed disruptive innovation on college and university campuses across 100 plus countries. The Hult Prize, popularly called the”Nobel Prize for Students,” is ranked amongst the world’s most innovative companies by Fast Co. and was featured in a TIME Magazine Cover Story highlighting the “Top 5 Ideas Changing the World.”
