Dr. Rehana Shaik and her student Himanshi Singh published a paper on Application of QUAL2K model for water quality modelling of Bhadra river stretch, India at the 26th International Conference on Hydraulics, Water Resources and Coastal Engineering (HYDRO-2021 International) at Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology (SVNIT) Surat, Gujarat from 23 – 25 December. The other author of this paper is Mummidivarapu Satish Kumar, Aditya Engineering College. Research work as explained by the authors:
The presentation is about applying the QUAL2K model to simulate water quality for the Bhadra river stretch. Temperature, Dissolved Oxygen(DO), Nitrate, and pH are simulated for a given period using the calibration and validation of the QUAL2K model based on data availability. In addition, the DO was simulated for the several BOD scenarios that were evaluated in the study.
The Department of Civil Engineering of SVNIT Surat organized the 26th International Conference on Hydraulics, Water Resources and Coastal Engineering as a part of its diamond jubilee celebration of SVNIT Surat. The Conference aimed at providing a forum to academicians, scientists, researchers, practitioners, field engineers and consultants for intellectual discussion and dissemination of information derived from their contributions in fields of Hydraulics, Water Resources and Coastal engineering.
