Hyderabad Workshop on Information Theory (HyWIT)

HyWIT is a workshop series on coding and information theory, communications and signal processing conducted by Joint Chapter of Communications and Signal Processing Society of IEEE Hyderabad Section, IIIT Hyderabad and IIT Hyderabad. HyWIT2019 was organized at IIT Hyderabad from 7 – 8 September and in IIIT Hyderabad from 14 – 15 September.  The 2019 edition of HyWIT focused primarily on Sparse Signal Processing and Applications.
HyWIT 2019 has been supported by IEEE Signal Processing Society under chapter driven initiative. The program comprised of six half-day lectures and a poster session by students of IIIT Hyderabad and IIT Hyderabad.

  • Greedy Pursuit Algorithms for Sparse Signal Processing (Keynote talk) – Prof. K V S Hari, IISc Bangalore
  • Introduction to Compressed Sensing (Talk) – Prof. M Vidyasagar, Distinguished Professor, IIT Hyderabad
  • Bayesian Inspired Non-Convex Methods for Sparse Signal Recovery (Tutorial)Prof. Chandra Murthy, IISc Bangalore
  • Sparse Fourier Transform and Applications (Tutorial) Dr. Lalitha Vadlamani, IIIT Hyderabad

HyWIT 2019 had around 30 participants including participants from industry, faculty from engineering colleges in the state and students registered for the event. The detailed program of the workshop can be found at http://spcrc.iiit.ac.in/hywit2019/
