The Hyderabad Symposium on AI is an initiative of IIIT Hyderabad to bring eminent researchers, thinkers and practitioners in the field of AI to Hyderabad to address the larger AI community here. The first event in this series was held on 22 December at the Infosys Campus in Gachibowli. This event was co-located with the 11th Indian conference on Computer Vision, Graphics and Image Processing. The symposium provided a platform for the exchange of idea in the area of Artificial Intelligence. It explored recent research advances in the area of Artificial intelligence with expert national and international speakers. The event featured 8 eminent speakers from across the globe and covered topics in the broad area of Computer Vision Graphic and Image Processing. The speakers were Prof. Guido Gerig, New York University; Prof. Koichi Kise, Osaka Prefecture University; Prof. Santanu Chaudhury – CEERI, Pilani; Dr. Karthik Alahari – Inria, Grenoble, France; Dr. Manmohan Chandraker – University of California, San Diego; Prof. Rama Chellappa – University of Maryland; Dr. Shailesh Kumar- AI CoE, Reliance Jio and Dr. Manohar Paluri – Facebook AI Research.
