Dr. P Pravin Kumar Venkat Rao gave an invited lecture on Seismic Strengthening of Structural Masonry using Composite Materials at the one month Internship Programme for 4th Semester, B.E Civil Engineering students of Gandhi Institute for Technology (GIFT), Bhubaneswar, organized by National Academy of Construction (NAC), Hyderabad) on 10 June. 

His talk highlighted the use of advanced materials like fibre-reinforced polymers (FRP), wire-reinforced mortar (WRM) and textile-reinforced mortars (TRM) for retrofitting masonry structures. The session briefly covered techniques to enhance seismic performance, improve ductility, and ensure structural safety in earthquake-prone areas.
