Dr. P. Pravin Kumar Venkat Rao delivered an expert lecture on “Improving Earthquake Resilience of Masonry Structures via Composite Strengthening” as part of the One-Week Advanced Construction Technique Finishing School Programme for Civil Engineering graduates, organized by the National Academy of Construction (NAC), Hyderabad, on 22 September.

In his session, Dr. Pravin discussed the vulnerabilities of unreinforced masonry in seismic zones and presented innovative composite-based retrofitting techniques to enhance structural safety. He further elaborated on modern strengthening strategies, performance evaluation methods, and practical applications for both contemporary and heritage masonry structures.

The lecture underscored the significance of sustainable materials and advanced construction practices in building earthquake resilience, offering young civil engineers valuable perspectives for future-ready engineering solutions.
