Dr. Ashok Kumar Das gave Keynote talk on Blockchain Technology and Its Applications in Internet-of-Things and AI/ML Security at the 17th IEEE International Conference on COMmunication Systems & NETworkS (IEEE COMSNETS), under the Cyber Security and Privacy (CSP) Workshop held in Bangalore from 6 – 10 January.
Here is the summary of the talk as explained by Dr. Ashok Kumar Das:
The Internet of Things (IoT) is a system of physical as well as virtual objects (each with networking capabilities incorporated) that are interconnected to exchange and collect information locally or remotely over the Internet. Since the communication often takes place over the Internet, it is vulnerable to various security threats in an IoT environment. In this keynote talk, IoT and its security issues for various applications are discussed. Next, the Blockchain technology and its potential applications are discussed. Two case studies are then discussed. First, a case study involving blockchain-envisioned secure data delivery and collection mechanism for 5G-based IoT-enabled Internet of Drones (IoD) environment is discussed. Next case study involves the impact on blockchain-based AI/ML-enabled Big data analytics for the cognitive IoT environment.
