IIIT Hyderabad community celebrations Diwali – the festival of lights on 31 October. The celebrations began in the evening with Diwali puja at Bakul Warehouse followed by Lighting of Diyas and the most awaited event the Firecracker Celebrations at Felicity Ground. Diwali, the festival that commemorates the return of Lord Rama to Ayodhya after fourteen years in exile, is a time to reflect, celebrate, and find joy in togetherness. This tradition, rooted in devotion and positivity, encourages us to spread kindness, forgive, and look forward to new beginnings.
As part of Diwali celebrations this year, the General Administration Department (GAD) organized a grand lunch for all outsourcing staff. With the generous contributions from staff, faculty, and students through the Dussera Ennam collection, the housekeeping team had the opportunity to celebrate both Dussera and Diwali in a memorable way. The funds were used to organize traditional pooja ceremonies during the festive season, bringing a sense of joy and cultural togetherness. In addition to the poojas, a special group lunch was organized for over 200 housekeeping staff members, who came together to enjoy the festivities. The event fostered a spirit of unity and gratitude, and everyone involved had a wonderful time participating in the celebrations.
A heartfelt thanks to all contributors for making this initiative possible and for helping create a memorable and meaningful festive experience for our hardworking housekeeping team.
