Design Thinking Workshops

Product Design and Management (PDM) program under SERC conducted two in-person Design Thinking Workshops on 8 and 23 April.  The workshop was intended to evangelise Human-Centered Approach for building better products, solutions, and services, and promote PDM Programme and admissions in M.Tech – Product Design and Management.

The First Design Thinking Workshop was conducted on 8 April at Saranga Hall, Nilgiri Block, IIITH campus on the theme Cost of Loneliness Amongst Indian Youth, Can Technology Help?  The workshop explored: How Might We Help the Indian Youth Combating Loneliness and Its Devastating Emotional, Physical and Economic Consequences?

Thirty participants including students, and young professionals attended the workshop. The workshop was conceptualised, curated,  and conducted by Dr. Raman Saxena, SERC and Dr. Priyanka Srivastava, C&P Lab  and  was supported and sponsored by Prof. Raghu Reddy, Head of PDM & SERC and  Prof. Ramesh Loganathan, PDM Programme.

Dr. Hima Ravi, consultant psychiatrist was the invited guest as subject matter expert who shared her perspective on loneliness and answered queries of workshop participants.

The Second Design Thinking Workshop was conducted on 23 April at Saranga Hall, Nilgiri Block and KBH Auditorium at IIITH campus on the theme, The Value of Bicycling Experience for a City and its People. The Workshop explored: How Can We Promote and Support, Safe and Comfortable Bicycling Experience for the People Living in Hyderabad so that Hyderabad is Transformed into Healthier & Happier City and How Technology can Support this Goal?

There was an overwhelming response of 240 participants which included students, and young professionals from industry and startups attended the workshop.  The workshop was conducted by Dr. Raman Saxena and Dr. Raghu Reddy (SERC).  The Designated  Bicycle Mayor of Hyderabad City  Shri Santhana Selvan and Mr. Ravi representing Greater Hyderabad Active Mobility Foundation were invited guest speakers as subject matter experts who shared their thoughts and also answered questions coming from the workshop participants.
