Decore – The Design Club

Design Battles (15 February)

Felicity 2025’s Design Battle was a wild mix of chaos, creativity, and loads of fun, all driven by the chance to brag and snag some awesome prizes (CHOCOLATES AND FINGER PUPPETS, HELL YEAH!). Hexcodle had everyone squinting at nearly identical shades of blue, making them question their vision (and maybe their life choices too). The Design Handicaps, with cricket gloves, upside-down drawing, and color inversion, turned even the simplest tasks into a real challenge. During the Movie Poster Recreation, people were striking A-list poses in front of a green screen, giving classics like La La Land a totally ‘unique’ twist. The main event, Fix the Problem, was supposed to be a serious challenge, but it quickly became a meme competition with contestants making hilarious edits and bribing votes with fried maggi. Recreate the Transition had newbie editors in a trance on how to operate the editing tools but with a little bit of help a funny and admirable effort was made (especially since it gave the most points, turning the leaderboard around). CSS Challenge for a good ol’ fashioned html and css fanatics, Mood Board had attendees revealing their true pinterest-ing skills. Prompt Engineering also saw some participation (thankfully no MOSS here). The best part however was that all around people were buzzing with energy, trying out things they’d never done before, racking up points, and pushing their creative boundaries. In the end, it wasn’t just about the prizes (though winning those chocolates and finger puppets was definitely a bonus), but about embracing the unknown, surprising themselves, and somehow turning all that chaos into a win.
