Carnatic Evening Raga by Vidushi Mridula Ashwin

The Cultural wing of SLC and Sanskriti Foundation organized a classical music concert series called Evening Raga by Vidushi Mridula Ashwin and her team on 29 September. The first concert of this series  was held at Tarangani amphitheater to promote Indian classical music amongst the youth. The artists, accompaniments and compositions for the series were carefully chosen to showcase the richness, diversity and the deep philosophy of Indian music. 

Vidushi Mridula Ashwin is an All India Radio Hyderabad artiste and a research scholar at the University of Hyderabad. She is the recipient of ‘Promising Young Talent Award’ from Kartikeya gana sabha and jasraj award from the Rotary Club of Hyderabad. She has performed at several reputed venues such as Sarvani Sangeeta Sabha Chennai, Indian Fine Arts Chennai, Kanchi Kamakoti Adhishtanam and Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam.

Vidvan Rajashekhar Oruganti is a professional Carnatic violin artist recognized by Prasara Bharati, All India Radio. He is the recipient of Kalymamani Kanya Kumari award, senior central scholarship and guru Shishya Parampara scholarship.

Ramakrishna is a professional mridangam artist recognized by Prasara Bharati All India radio. He is the recipient of the prestigious Ugadi Puraskar from Madras Telugu Academy. He also received the Duke of Edinburgh Award and super achiever award in the year 2002.
