Bollimuntha Shreya supervised by Prof. K Madhava Krishna  received her Master of Science – Dual Degree  in Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECD). Here’s a summary of her research work on Learning-Based Variable Impedance Control for Coordinated Dual-Arm Manipulation:

This thesis presents a novel reinforcement learning-based variable impedance control framework for coordinated dual-arm manipulation. Traditional impedance controllers struggle with dynamically adjusting stiffness during complex tasks, and pure reinforcement learning approaches often lack stability and efficiency. The proposed framework integrates reinforcement learning with an optimization based impedance controller, enabling adaptive stiffness modulation while ensuring compliance and safety in manipulation tasks.
