Amar Budhiraja

Amar Budhiraja, Research Fellow in the Machine Learning and Applied Sciences Group at MSR India gave a talk on Building an intelligent feed system for effective information recommendation at work  on 18 January.

Enterprise environments are essentially social communication networks. Following up with every ongoing conversation to understand if it is relevant to you is at best lost productivity and usually, intractable. In his talk, Mr. Budhiraja discussed a machine learning based intelligent feed system being built at Microsoft Research, which helps surfacing the relevant conversations to users at the right time. During his talk he also discussed its major challenges including the feed design with respect to computation costs, privacy and confidentiality, and effectiveness. He also spoke about the various projects at MSR India, and the MSR Research Fellow program.

Prior to joining MSR, Amar Budhiraja  was a Research Engineer with Microsoft Hyderabad, where he worked in the Office Intelligence and Data Science Team. Amar holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Computer Science and Engineering from IIIT-Hyderabad where he worked on Data Mining and Computational Advertising under the guidance of Prof. P Krishna Reddy.
