Alumni Meet 2022

July 2022

IIITH Alumni Association organized an Alumni Meet on 8 July at Himalaya 205. The meet brewed a concoction of emotions ranging from nostalgia, camaraderie and laughter. Even the heavy rains could not put a dampener on the lively spirit of the evening.

The meet was well attended by more than 200 alumni and a good number of faculty including the Director. A large number of alumni were from the batches that graduated during the pandemic and were overjoyed to meet their classmates and share experiences with them.

The first session began with a welcome speech by the Director. He acknowledged the rich diversity of IIITH alumni, both in terms of their geographical location and in terms of the roles they were playing. Prof. Narayanan said, “Our Alumni from across the world are making us proud with all their achievements.” He spoke about the upcoming Silver Jubilee and invited the alumni to play an active part in the celebrations and help design the future of the institute. Alumnus Vipul Kedia, (IIITH 1999-2002) Vice Chair of the Silver Jubilee Committee addressed the gathering virtually. He spoke about the plans for the Silver Jubilee and invited the alumni to join the various committees, volunteer their services and be a part of the celebrations.

Prof. Praveen , Chair of the Alumni Committee gave a brief summary of the activities of the Alumni Affairs Committee.

The Alumni Cell students organised an interesting game for the alumni getting them to share funny memories of their campus days. Every alumnus who shared a memory was given a IIITH memento. The audience was in splits of laughter as many of them spoke about many hilarious incidents that took place during their time on campus.

Meenakshi informed the alumni about Alumni Association’s plans to establish a formal IIIT Hyderabad Alumni Association and the new Alumni Webpage.

The delicious dinner spread was a wonderful end to a great evening .
