The theme of 27th ACM International Conference on Information and Knowledge Management (CIKM)  was From Big Data and Big Information to Big Knowledge. Strategically positioned at the intersection of research on the management of knowledge, information, and data, CIKM is uniquely situated to highlight technologies and insights that materialize the Big Data, Big Information and Big Knowledge vision of the future.

Since 1992, CIKM has successfully brought together leading researchers and developers from the knowledge management, information retrieval, and database communities. Through the publication, presentation, and discussion of high-quality applied and theoretical research findings, CIKM attendees shape the future by identifying challenging problems facing the creation of advanced knowledge and information systems, and by providing insightful solution approaches for those problems. CIKM 2018, continued the tradition of promoting collaboration among multiple areas through broad and interdisciplinary programs for the conference, including workshops, tutorials, industry speakers, keynote speakers, research papers and posters, demonstrations, competitions, and other special events.
