Remote Labs project team – Akshit Gureja (UG5 ECD), Vedant Nipane (UG4 ECE), Nagesh Walchatwar (MS 1st year) and Devansh Kantesaria (UG3 ECD) working with Dr. Sachin Chaudhari have won first prize at the Hyderabad regionals of the 5G and 6G hackathon conducted by Telecom Centres of Excellence India (TCOE) India on behalf of Department of Telecommunication (DoT), India at IIIT Hyderabad on 26 – 27 September.
The 5G-6G hackathon was a 30-hour event conducted in parallel in all the 3 regions – Delhi, Hyderabad and Bangalore. Each region saw an approximate 30 teams building their solutions after a pan-India qualification round. On site, every team went through another judging round from which 15 teams were selected and presented their solutions to a panel of eminent judges. The Remote Lab team’s on-ground work and detailed presentation were quick to win hearts and made them secure first place in Hyderabad.
The team was further invited to present their Remote Labs project at the India Mobile Congress 2024, organized at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi from 15 to 18 October, where they were they secured the 3rd All India Rank and had the honour of being felicitated by Dr. Chandra Sekhar Pemmasani, Minister of State (MoS) for Rural Development and Communications.
