2018 IEEE 87th Vehicular Technology Conference: VTC2018-Spring

Zakir Hussain Shaik,  MS by Research student working under the supervision of Dr. P Ubaidulla, Signal Processing and Communications Research Center (SPCRC) attended a conference in Porto, Portugal during 3 – 6 June. He presented two papers:

Sum-Rate Maximization in Non-Orthogonal Multiple Access Relay Networks

Non-Orthogonal Multiple Access in Cognitive Relay Networks at 2018 IEEE 87th Vehicular Technology Conference VTC2018-Spring, Porto, Portugal during 3 – 6 June.

His papers proposed resource allocation and precoder design in Non-Orthogonal Multiple Access (NOMA) based relaying systems and also it applications in cognitive radio networks. NOMA is envisaged to be one of the key 5G enabling technologies with potential to meet high data rates and connectivity demands.

VTC is one of the very distinguished conferences in the domain of Signal Processing and Wireless Communications. It is one of the long running conferences in this area wherein researchers all over the world participated avidly with over 500 attendees.

VTC2018-Spring comprised of papers, posters, tutorials, talks, keynotes and panels, industry tracks, and activities which facilitated knowledge exchange, professional development, and networking with fellow researchers and dignitaries from around the world. The technical program focused on non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA), mmWave communications, UAVs, MIMO, cognitive radio, connected and automated vehicles(CAV), and 5G communications.

Zakir’s research work was supported by “Visvesvaraya Young Faculty Research Fellowship” of Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MeitY) and conference travel was supported by Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR).
