IIITH and European Union (EU) jointly organised a Developer’s Tutorial on campus for using an open source implementation of oneM2M, developed by a team of French researchers from Laboratory for Analysis and Architecture of Systems (LAAS-CNRS), University of Toulouse. This highly informative hands-on session was specially relevant to technology students, developers and start-ups focusing on the Internet of Things (IoT). The workshop had tutorials and hackathons which gave a good awareness of the standards and their importance among academic and industry stakeholders. oneM2M is a global standardisation initiative (with active participation of the Indian and European telecom standards bodies) that creates requirements, architecture, API specifications, security solutions and interoperability for Machine-to-Machine and IoT technologies. The workshop had nearly 100 participants. IIIT Hyderabad is the only institute in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh to host this event and one of 4 institutions from India apart from IIT Delhi, IISc Bangalore and Punjab University.
