Dr Karthik Vaidhyanathan Receives Best Reviewer Award, Delivers Keynote at ECSA 2026
Dr Karthik Vaidhyanathan, Assistant Professor at IIIT Hyderabad, received the Best Reviewer Award at the 20th European Conference on Software Architecture (ECSA 2026), held in Bolzano, Italy.
As part of the conference, Dr Vaidhyanathan delivered the keynote “When Adaptation Becomes Agentic: Architecting Autonomy under Uncertainty” at the Context-Aware, Autonomous and Smart Architectures (CASA) Workshop on 8 September. The keynote explored the evolution of self-adaptive systems towards Agentic AI and the architectural challenges associated with increasing autonomy and uncertainty in AI systems.
Dr Vaidhyanathan also presented “Software Architecture for Agentic AI: Challenges and Way Ahead”, co-authored with Henry Muccini. His PhD student Rudra Dhar was also part of the conference activities and contributed to the research discussions around Agentic AI and software architecture.
The participation at ECSA 2026 highlighted the ongoing research contributions from the Software Engineering Research Center (SERC), IIIT Hyderabad, in the areas of Agentic AI, software architecture, and self-adaptive systems.
