The UG-1 Induction Programme 2026 at IIIT Hyderabad provided students a dynamic and enriching introduction to campus life, blending academic orientation, personal development, cultural exposure, and peer engagement. Students participated in inspiring external programmes such as DAN-SING, Human Code theatre, folk performances, city exploration activities by INTACH Hyderabad, SPIC MACAY orientation, and expert talks. Complementing these were sessions on academics, research, campus facilities, gender sensitisation, mental health awareness, and student support systems, enabling students to begin their IIIT Hyderabad journey with confidence and purpose.
A major highlight of the induction was the vibrant series of student-led events organised by the Institute’s Apex, clubs, councils, and student bodies. Freshers were introduced to campus life through interactive sessions and orientations to student bodies, clubs, apex and cluster meets, followed by student governance interactions. The programme featured a diverse range of activities, including a plantation drive by NSS-IIIT-H, water rocketry, human chess, arduino rrcade, linux installation workshops, hacking club basecamp, Not-a-Job-Fair, alumni unfiltered, campus walks, sports activities, music and karaoke evenings, arts and craft workshops, micro-film making, cinema craft night, literary events, debate sessions, gaming competitions, quizzes, entrepreneurship and design challenges, skateboarding, and several community-building activities organised by student bodies.
These engagements showcased the richness of student life at IIIT Hyderabad and provided newcomers with numerous opportunities to explore their interests, build friendships, develop leadership skills, and become active members of the campus community. Together, the induction and club engagement programmes fostered a strong sense of belonging and successfully introduced students to the academic excellence, collaborative spirit, and vibrant co-curricular culture that define life at IIIT Hyderabad.
