IIIT-H teams winners at Summit 2026

The Physical Education Center and Sports Council organised the Inter Engineering College Tournament at IIIT Hyderabad from 6 – 8 March, featuring Football (Men), Basketball (Men & Women), and Volleyball (Men & Women). The event brought together teams from several engineering colleges, creating an atmosphere of healthy competition and sportsmanship on campus. The dedication, teamwork, and commitment shown by all participants ensured the smooth conduct of the tournament.

Featuring 10 competing teams from leading institutions, the tournament brought together intense competition and high-quality football. Representing IIIT Hyderabad on home turf, the team rose to the occasion with exceptional composure and dominance throughout the event.

What truly set this campaign apart was the team’s defensive brilliance, not a single goal was conceded across the entire tournament.

The final against Mahindra University proved to be a tightly contested battle. In a game defined by intensity and narrow margins, IIIT-H held their nerve and secured a hard-fought 1–0 victory, sealing the championship in style.

Coached by Mr. Revanth Netala and led by Captain Abraham Paul, the team showcased outstanding leadership and unity.

This triumph at SUMMIT 2026 is yet another testament to the team’s consistency, preparation, and winning mentality. Playing at home only added to the significance of the achievement, making it a memorable victory for both the players and the institute.
