Prof. Pradeep Kumar Ramancharla is the new Director of  Central Building Research Institute (CBRI) at Roorkee. His appointment there is for 6 years. 

The Central Building Research institute, Roorkee, India, has been vested with the responsibility of generating, cultivating and promoting building science and technology in the service of the country.

Since its inception in 1947, the institute has been assisting the building construction and building material industries in finding timely, appropriate and economical solutions to the problems of building materials, health monitoring and rehabilitation of structures, disaster mitigation, fire safety, Energy efficient rural and urban housing. The institute is committed to serve the people through R&D in the development process and maintains linkages at international and national level.

Commenting on the new posting, Prof P J Narayanan, Director, IIITH said, “While we are very reluctant to let Pradeep go away, it is also a proud moment and opportunity for the institute to spread its thinking and ethos to other influential agencies within the country. I am sure Pradeep will do a great job there and help the country’s building construction area.”
