Prof. K S Rajan has been appointed the new Registrar at IIIT Hyderabad. This choice was also ratified by the Governing Council in its meeting on 16 May ’22. He joined the institute in 2006 after a PhD from The University of Tokyo / UTokyo and a BTech from IIT Kharagpur. He is a leading authority in Spatial Informatics and is involved with many initiatives at the state and central levels.

He takes over from Prof. R Pradeep Kumar who previously held the position for two consecutive terms and has successfully set up solid systems, keeping the reality of a bigger institute in mind.

Announcing the change in guard, Prof P J Narayanan said, “I thank Pradeep profusely for his intense service as the Registrar for the past six years! The institute progressed much under his efforts. I also welcome Rajan to carry on and take the institute further in the coming years! I am certain all of you will join me in thanking Pradeep and in welcoming Rajan!”

A small informal get-together with the outgoing Registrar,  Prof. R Pradeep Kumar was held on 28 May at the  institute Guest house.
