New members from UG2K19 for Apex ’21 have been selected. The Apex committee is tasked with making the transition from school life to college life smoother for students who join IIIT Hyderabad. This involves helping prospective students throughout the admission process and mentoring the new batch through the initial period so that they can adjust to life in college and assimilate with the IIITH community. The specifics of how the Apex team does this changes according to the situation in which students join the college.
In a typical offline semester, they conducted multiple activities, competitions, and trips for the juniors to know more about their batchmates, IIITH and Hyderabad. Last year was a unique challenge since they had to induct the juniors in an online semester. Their next step was to choose mentors across batches, although primarily students from the UG2k20 batch would have the greatest representation. The mentors and the incoming juniors will be divided into multiple clusters to allow them to speak with present IIITH students, and to voice any questions they might have.
