Clubs Council – NAAC visit

Several clubs and organisations prepared posters as a part of the NAAC visit to IIIT Hyderabad. 

Clubs Council 

Clubs Council is the largest collective student body on campus. As the executive body concerned with the functioning of clubs, they look over 20+ clubs consisting of 250+ members.

  • 200+ Events Per Year

Working closely with the institute’s Students’ Life Office, Finance Council, Outreach, IT Offices, SLC and SAC faculty members, they strive to ensure that all student-driven organisations on campus are successful in their aim to cultivate diverse campus life experiences throughout the year, while fostering inclusion.

Alongside setting goals for long-term development of student activities, some of their primary tasks include:

  • Handling the annual budget of clubs and helping to plan and execute various events.
  • Coordinating between different clubs and promoting collaboration.
  • Helping formulate ideas for new clubs, societies and special-interest groups.
  • Looking for avenues to encourage outreach of clubs and bringing in industrial collaboration.
  • Fostering ties with external institutes and exposing students to a broader scope of opportunities.

Music Club 

Everyone is a part of the music club, ‘cause who doesn’t enjoy music. Music club hosts events open to anyone who wants to enjoy some music. Music club wants people to bond and mingle over the music they play and love. 

Amateur Sports Enthusiasts Club (ASEC) 

The Amateur Sports Enthusiasts’ Club (ASEC) aims to provide a platform and opportunity for every person on the campus to play and enjoy a sport they love. One of its main goals is to increase female participation by hosting events and tournaments just for them. ASEC hopes to not only help the people who play sports, but also watch sports by holding regular match streams and events testing their knowledge and passion for the sport.

Decore 

Decore, the digital design club at IIIT, is a vibrant community that embraces the ethos of “Design from the core.” It serves as a haven for artists, bringing together talented designers skilled in videography, filmography, and photo editing. Decore is dedicated to unlocking the true artistic potential of its team members, encouraging them to explore diverse fields and facilitating learning through workshops.

At Decore, the primary goal is to create an environment that fosters creativity and empowers individuals to push their artistic boundaries. The club serves as a catalyst for inspiration and growth within the IIIT community. Through their expertise and passion, Decore’s designers inspire and uplift fellow artists, continuously striving to elevate the standard of design at the institute.

Gaming Club 

The Gaming Club wishes to expand and promote the gaming culture present in IIITH. Supporting both competitive gaming, party gaming and game development to produce and an environment where anyone can fit in is the final vision for Gaming club. Currently the Gaming club is in the process of setting up a gaming room for our college.

Hacking Club 

Hacking club is based on ethical hacking, where they try to familiarize people with different tools and ways of ethical hacking and make them aware about how cybersecurity is so important in today’s world. They envision promoting ethical hacking in its true form. Hacking club plans to make the students learn new concepts via fun activities like capture the flags and hold cyber awareness sessions.

The Literary Club

The Literary Club, contrary to what the name might suggest, is not just a conventional group of people who love literature. In addition to being a club that appreciates literature, LitClub is a group of varied interests- from anime to classic literature, from pop culture to poetic romanticism and from visual arts to theater, we have it all. LitClub, greatly believes in using literature as a tool to explore all expressions of art and critique them. 

 

Open Source Developers Group (OSDG)

The Open Source Developers’ Group (OSDG) likes to consider itself a community and forum of people enthusiastic about Open Source. The team of the club concerns itself with trying to increase the involvement of college students in free and open software ecosystems.

Pentaprism 

The Photography Club is a bunch of photography enthusiasts. They cover events conducted by various other clubs and the institute. They organize their own events such as photo-contests and workshops where enthusiasts learn new photography techniques and showcase their talent.

The Club covers various aspects of life at IIIT and showcases it on social platforms such as YouTube, Instagram and Facebook. Pentaprism’s very own website is also about to get major updates along with an open to public Photo (and video) archive maintained by the Club which will further increase IIIT’s outreach.

Programming Club

The Programming Club strives to maintain IIITH’s reputed coding culture, by organizing various events for all levels of participation throughout the year and guiding aspiring students to further excel their skills. The club was started to encourage more people to do competitive programming, by helping them get set up, having discussions, and participating in competitions together. Over the years, the club has successfully increased its activities, both in quantity and quality. Now the focus is to have talks and meets on various programming and math topics and have regular contests and problem discussions. The club’s primary focus is on competitive programming and ICPC.

Skateboarding Club 

The skateboarding club of IIITH exists for the purpose of introducing IIITH students to skateboarding. It became an official IIITH club in March and currently it holds regular sessions every week to teach skateboarding to the students of IIITH. One of the goals of the club is to create IIITH’s first skateboarding team and take part in competitions.

The TV Room Quiz Club (TVRQC)

TVRQC is currently a team of 20-25 people, organising quizzes on various topics in IIIT Hyderabad and some which are open to all college students. On an average, they conduct one quiz every 2 months and a huge flagship event for Felicity annually. The monthly quizzes are either made by quiz club alumni, team members or other interested students. They also frequently collaborate with other clubs like ASEC, Lit Club etc. to quiz on more diverse and IIIT Clubs specific themes.

 

Art Society 

The Art Society is a place for students to practice and hone in on their skills, develop their techniques and portfolios, collaborate with other artists like themselves, create bonds with the community through the arts, and learn how to work together through group projects that will beautify the college and community.

ERC 

The club is a platform for people passionate about electronics and robotics to come together and make something real and tangible to serve a purpose. They share and interact with each other, exchanging ideas and helping each other become more competent in the current age of technology. The new direction the club aims for rapid development and productivity through the course of which they will brainstorm and implement ideas, test them and keep improving as a community in the process.

The Dance Crew 

To give all the people passionate about dance at IIITH a space to showcase and nurture their talents and interests where each style is encouraged, Their only criteria being – enthusiasm! It is open to beginners, amateurs, and professionals. Their vision is to ensure that every student at IIITH feels motivated and comfortable to dance in the events conducted by The Dance Crew throughout the year. The Dance Crew  strives to inculcate a passion for dance in all and develop skills as dancers.

Student Alumni Connect Cell  (SACC)

SACC is a student body which works to help alumni stay in touch with the institute through various events, whilst giving students an opportunity to gain invaluable knowledge from the experiences of alumni.

A Cultural show was put up by the students of IIIT Hyderabad to showcase the cultural life in our campus. There were performances by The Music Club, The Dance Crew and music students of Dr. T K Saroja. A broad spectrum of genres were performed which displayed the diversity of IIIT Hyderabad. The overall feedback from the audience and professors was a very positive one.
